Polystar Electronics Email Design

Polystar electronics is a household name and one of the top players in electronics and home appliances sub-sector of the Nigerian market. 

Our agency’s design team led the creative execution for this project. We worked collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business goals, user needs, and technical implementation.

The design team’s scope covered user research, user flows, design system creation, website UI design, and email flow design.

Challenge

Although POLYSTAR operates a wide network of sales and service centers across Nigeria, the brand was still struggling to tap into the $12 billion online commerce market.

The main challenges were:

  1. No customer email database linked to the website.

  2. No existing process for nurturing and retaining online customers.

 

Objectives

As a team, we set out to design an email marketing strategy that would strengthen customer relationships and drive measurable e-commerce growth.

Our objectives were to:

  1. Create a minimalist, conversion-driven newsletter that highlighted products and promotions clearly.

  2. Map out and design customer journey touchpoints, particularly around the decision-making process.

The Design

Abandoned Cart Email
We designed a flow to re-engage customers who added items to their cart but left without purchasing, guiding them back to checkout.

Post-Purchase Email
Our team introduced cross-sell opportunities by recommending complementary products, offering promo codes, and incentivizing repeat purchases.

Thank You Email
We crafted thank-you messages to build stronger customer relationships, foster loyalty, and increase lifetime value—while incorporating subtle offers to encourage return purchases.

Mobile Adaptation

Through research, we identified that 47% of emails are opened on mobile devices. Our team prioritized responsive, mobile-first designs to ensure clarity, accessibility, and engagement across devices.

This improved:

  • Readability, reducing unsubscribe rates.

  • Engagement, increasing click-through rates.

Impact & Metrics

The campaign delivered strong results across multiple email touchpoints:

  • +15% increase in unique mobile clicks.

  • +882% higher conversion rate from abandoned cart emails compared to standard campaigns.

  • +431% higher conversion rate from shipping confirmation emails.

  • +325% higher conversion rate from product cross-sell emails.
